Jeremy and I have been trying to get it together to write you a huge thank you for a year now, but things got way ahead of us. But as we were sitting yesterday thinking about our wedding day and what a wonderful time we had, we decided it was about time that we sat down and told you again what a big part of making our day so special you were.

A year later our friends and family are still talking about how wonderful the food was and how lovely all the catering staff was the entire evening. From the moment that Jeremy and I met you we knew that you understood exactly what kind of celebration we wanted to have and we couldn't have been more right! Thank you for your expertise, for sharing your opinions, and for listening to what we had to say. It was a joy to work with you and we can only hope to come up with another reason to do it again in the future.

We hope that this year has been good to you and your family. We followed our lovely wedding with a wonderful honeymoon in Greece and then thought we would take some time to relax.... it didn't turn out that way though. Two weeks ago we welcomed our daughter, Madelyn Beth! I am attaching a photo as another way of saying thank you for starting us of on a path that brought us this beautiful girl!

Dear Susie and Sandy,

I’ve been holding off on this email because I had hoped to have some photos for you but I don’t want any more time to go by without applauding both of you. In fact a standing ovation is more like it. Everything was perfect, flawless, beautiful and so yummy and both of you received many many compliments.

Thank you Sandy, for the absolutely beautiful job you did on the flowers! I was not alone in commenting on your eye for design. I made sure to take some pictures for you to put in your new album (never leave it with a Bride to be again J). I will get those out to you as soon as I can. I’ve hung my flowers and a few others that I gathered up. It was a shame to have to leave so many behind but I actually gave 2 of your big centerpieces to the property manager to bring home to his wife.

And Susie, the food was absolutely wonderful! You and your staff did a stand up job and the whole event was seamless (at least from what I could tell). And really, the food was so so so good. I also have a couple pictures for you. The photographer managed to get one really nice one of you setting up the display of food – it’d be a good one for advertising. I wish I’d thought to ask him to take more for you.

Because so many people were part of helping us pull together our wedding, we’ve received many emails about the event itself and how remarkable it was. In almost every single one both the food and flowers (and the bar) were commented on.

So, thank you both for everything you did and I would be so happy to help promote you in anyway I can. I never actually checked any references for either of you. I just got such a good feeling after meeting with you. Please let me know if I can be a reference for you anytime and I will certainly recommend you for any events I know of that take place up in the Portland/Camden/Mid-Coast area.

And I think I remember Susie mentioning that you have another sister in business for herself down in RI? A baby shop I think you said? Well my sister and one of my closest friends are due within the next couple months and I’d love to continue to support your family so please forward contact/store information for her.

On our way out of Islesboro we had hoped to drop off a couple of our wedding favor trees for each of you, but unfortunately the little stand at the ferry landing was closed. I hope business is booming! I’ll send the pics as soon as I get them developed.

Thank you so much for all of your help with our wedding. The food was amazing- our European guests, as well as American guests were both so happy with the food. I received tons of compliments at every meal you prepared. My Grandfather is still raving about brunch on Sunday morning, haha! My absolute favorite part of working with you though was the constant smile and genuine feeling you brought to the table. I truly enjoyed working with you. Andrew and I would not have changed a thing the day of our wedding, largely in part to your extraordinary work.
